Pediatric and Perinatal pathology

Pediatric pathology is the sub-specialty of surgical pathology which deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of children. It is a medical subspecialty with particular expertise in diseases affecting the placenta, fetus, infant and child. It is age-specific rather than organ-specific and includes investigation of that organ unique to the fetus, the placenta.
